*Edit: Sorry these weren’t tags, it won’t let me!

I do believe I started to write!

I don’t think this is going to be the novel, but at least it’s something to get me started. I wrote down a plot basis [hilariously from creating a Sims family and letting them run on random] and then last night after finding a first sentence prompt [hey I need all the help I can get to start ;)] just picked up a pen and started to write. I’m actually teaming with my friend who I used to write with all the time on this one, old schooling it like we used to. What we used to do, either in the library at breaks, boring classes where the teachers couldn’t teach [we had a few of those] or at home during sleep overs, was one of us would begin to write until we were stuck, then we’d swap stories and continue each others, so we wrote two stories at once. Never finished any of them mind but hey ho, we had fun!
So I emailed the story to her and she’s going to add her take to it, then pass it back to me when she’s out of ideas. It could be a tedious process I know, but I loved writing with her in the past and if it’s just a fun little short story or novella to get me going, why not?

Writing urge combined with writing funk.

I still really want to write a book. Or a short story, anything. I had an idea but then given what’s going on in my town lately as I mentioned, it seems really inappropriate [a young girl has gone missing]. So I’m basically stuck with a plot and need to think of something. I may take up the writing exercises for songwriting, take one of the ones I’ve written and free write from there.
I don’t know. I’m in a funk. Maybe I’ll put a Sims family on random and write down what they do lol.

I guess I’ll just have to wait and see.

Been having a lot of CP cramps in my ankle so it twists outwards and hurts like hell and managed to get the same in my hand too. It usually affects my right side but it decided to attack my left side and I’ve gotta say it made eating a pain in the ass. I couldn’t hold the spoon in my left hand like I usually do because it cramped every time I tried, so I’ve had to try eating with my right hand. Because the cerebral palsy affects my right side the most and the muscles are weak, this was the biggest challenge of my day. I maybe shouldn’t have found it funny being that I kept dropping the damn spoon and it took forever to pick it up again but it was pretty funny. Annoying, but funny. Gotta see the lighter side!

Organisation and a huge step forward

I just spent the last 2 hours trying to organise my stationary seeing as we finally managed to put the Alex drawers up tonight. I am however writing this from a clear bedside table instead of my lap, so that’s awesome. I do however need a proper perfume stand of some sort because using a knackered old set of drawers is a little unsteady. Pics will hopefully be on here of the transformation tomorrow, lighting sucks right now.

On other notes, I made a pretty huge step forward today [ok so it’s midnight so technically yesterday but whatever]. It may not seem much to some but for me it really was huge. I actually had a singing lesson today. It was just warm up vocals for today but it basically meant me using my voice in front of a complete stranger, with the goal to get me out gigging again. This really doesn’t seem like a whole lot, but lets put it this way. I haven’t gigged in 9 years. It took me 5 years to sing for my own husband. I literally developed this anxiety with singing for people, a thing I used to adore, to the point I would have a panic attack at just the thought of it. This Saturday, I opened my mouth and sang to a total stranger. That tiny little thing, is absolutely huge to me.
Permission to be proud of myself?

Getting there, But I hate Ikea still.

We started to build up the drawers and have one chest done and filled with almost all of my makeup, just need to sort out the kit for other people stuff and my perfumes in the next set, which we discovered would fit next to it perfectly, still leaving room for the Alex small drawers next to my bed. Can’t be arsed doing that today though, our backs are in immense pain and we’re just too tired.

The cat felt the need to check it out with us and make sure we were doing it right which was pretty funny, now he’s freaking out because there’s something new in the room that he’s never seen so he’s all curious and wants to know what it is.

It’s actually looking better already compared to before. Tomorrow we’ll hopefully finish the whole thing off and be done with nice, neat space. Hurrah!

Yeah that’s right, you heard me! Eugh!!!! Went there, knew exactly what I wanted, found it, only to find the main thing I wanted had gone out of stock. Got the smaller version at least but then had to spend an hour walking around the crappy one way system to find a solution to the bigger problem. Ended up buying 2 small metal chests of drawers in the hope that they’ll somehow work for the makeup storage. On the upside, instead of the originally intended 140 pounds, I only spent 86. So yay bonus….

However if I ever have to walk around a child crowded, screaming mass of one way madness again, I’m going all Jackie Chan on people. Seriously. No.

*Side note – I actually love Ikea, it rocks, I just hate their damn stores.

WordPress brings great essay help, Cyber-Candy supply the study fuel!

This lovely lady – http://magpiecws.wordpress.com –  wrote a rather fabulous book titled First Class English Literature Essays – A Collection of Short Essays This lovely book came in my mail this morning and being that I’ve started studying English Lit, this is going to help me out a lot.

IMG_1141 On top of that help I have Japanese Melon Ramune and awesome chocolate for study fuel! Woohoo! Ok so it’s junk food fuel but eh, candy time. Still haven’t been to Ikea, the date keeps changing so I’m very tempted to have the stuff delivered. Which is a bit annoying because the delivery charge is a bit ridiculous.  We’ll see I suppose.

I’m a little stuck on the book plot because given whats going on in my town right now, it seems hugely inappropriate so I need to think of something else. I’m a little stumped for it so maybe I just need to change genre course all together…. Hmmm, decisions, decisions.

Roll on Wednesday!

Or Thursday, whatever day around then we’re headed to the dreaded Ikea for the Alex drawers. I still haven’t sorted the desk problem, but fingers crossed we will soon find a solution to this, even if it means buying 2 small cabinets, placing them the width apart of the current table I have now and slapping some wood from B&Q on top in some sort of mini desk fashion.

I have a few more male characters, and to be honest I think enough characters in the book now to start drawing up the plot in a less vague fashion so I’m actually really looking forward to getting some sort of work space because then I can get cracking on this.

I began to crack on with translating Chaucer for literature [seriously that’s the first request for the first assignment, “give a description of these 3 characters using your own words.” – Aka: Translate these words to modern day English cause they don’t make sense anymore. Unfortunately I didn’t get very far before being hit with a health issue that was completely throwing me off and distracting me. So that was a pain in the ass. But at least I finished the description I’d set a goal in my diary to finish for that night, so I didn’t fail my task. Now I just need to pick another day this week to do more, and ask the hubby to maybe sit with me and chat what days are best so we don’t distract each other from work, a day when I go out to work so he can do the work he needs to do at home, then vice versa.

I won’t lie, I’d get a good laugh if we spent all this time fashioning a mini desk for the bedroom, and the housing suddenly called up and said something like, you were the number 1 bidder on this house, do you want it? ” Cause then we wouldn’t have needed to make the makeshift desk cause we’d have a home with room to put it in lol.

Generally speaking, I feel okay today. I’m still feeling a bit bleh and exhausted after last nights health shenanigans but I feel considerably better than I did a few hours ago. Hopefully it will ease off soon.

The Sims 3, Tomb Raider 2 and book plots.

So, my author sim hired a butler because she sucks at cooking and doesn’t have the time to learn when people are demanding she write dramatic novels. She moved to a bigger home in order to accommodate him with his own room and everything.

After a long, hard day slaving over her latest masterpiece, she went to bed. The butler proceeded to sit at the chair at the side of her bed and stare at her. He just sat there for hours and watched her sleep.

This reminded me a little of the butler in the Tomb Raider 2 PC game. Remember that guy? You’d tour Lara’s home and he’d follow you everywhere, shaking his tea tray and making really sexual moaning noises. The only way not to bump into his weird, stalker habits was to lock him in the freezer, and even then you still heard his creepy moans of pleasure. Being that the butler in the Sims 3 has chosen to watch his boss sleep, I’m starting to wonder if he’s Mr Tomb Raider’s long lost grandson. Weird.

On other notes, my book has a brief plot, and 3 main characters. I feel like I need more males but I’m bad at thinking of names. I have one male named Jonathan and he will be a centre character in some way. It’s probably every cliche you’ve heard in a book ever, but I’m going to write it anyway, why? Because I want to. Lets see where this goes shall we?

This of course means I have an English Literature course to complete as well as writing a book. It’s very tempting to take their novel writing course also, maybe after literature. Who knows? But yay I have things to do!
